Stephanus Byzantinus . Ethnica , mentions Byllis as a town founded by Neoptolemi, son of Achilles.

 

Dodona (in Epirus in northwestern Greece Ioannina, was an important oracle). Inscription , Byllis put under protection of a goddess.

 

Pseudo Skylaksi. Periplus, 27 , gives a description of the Adriatic and Ionian coast around the year 380 BC, suggesting the link between Amantia and Byllis expressed in a political community "koinon".

 

Cicero , mentions Byllis as possessed by the people of Mark Antony, Mark Anthony ,11

 

Plinius , mentions Byllis as a Roman colony.
